In times of economic uncertainty, keeping close track of donors is even more crucial for nonprofits. Donor databases provide a valuable service by letting fundraisers know who has contributed what, and whom to ask next.

But many nonprofit professionals are not making the best use of their software, or are using programs that are wrong for their organizations.
