NPower Charlotte Region

What we do

We believe technology can change the world of nonprofits.

NPower Charlotte Region is a nonprofit technology consultancy working exclusively with other 501(c)(3) organizations. We are confident that through technology we can affect change for the common good.

Technology in the hands of nonprofits holds enormous potential that can be unleashed with the right technology assistance. Not only do we improve nonprofits' current technology, but we also help them plan for the future, implement needed technology programs and achieve improvements that enable them to better serve their clients.

Based on NPower's experience working with nonprofits, NPower recognized an opportunity to jumpstart expanded IT applications through a collaborative, community-based program focused on common technology solutions. Through the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, NPower launched Project Ignite in May of 2009.

The mission of Project Ignite is to transform the application of information technology for more than 60 agencies in Mecklenburg County. By teaming up with the IT community and nonprofit agencies, NPower staff and volunteers are dedicated to developing sustainable solutions that can be shared among all nonprofits to better serve people.

In 2002, 20 visionary leaders of the American Leadership Forum from across the 14 county Charlotte region raised awareness and funding to create an NPower affiliate for our community. NPower's Charlotte Region has since has established itself as the key facilitator of technology strategy and solutions development for the nonprofit sector.

Since our founding eight years ago, NPower Charlotte Region has served over 180 agencies, delivered more than 120 technology projects, and raised $3.5+ million in cash and in-kind technology donations for our region.
