Debbi holds a bachelor’s degree in history from George Mason University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Before joining the Philanthropy Journal, she served for three years as director of development for the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at North Carolina State University, and before that was assistant director of development at Habitat for Humanity of Wake County in Raleigh, N.C.

Debbi has 16 years’ experience working for nonprofits in marketing, development and leadership roles, and served on the board of directors of the Triangle chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.
